Laid Back Parenting Style (Part 2)

Okay so for part two of my parenting styles I have noticed the some parents, especially new moms are the complete opposite of the domineering style and are in a sense “push-overs.”  These types of personalities seem to be so laid back they allow all those around them to tell them how to parent and let others decide what’s best for their child. Domineering Parent Style (Part 1)

This is going to be part of a 3-blog series about parenting styles.  Over the last couple of years people around me have been becoming parents and I have seen so many different parenting styles.  Over the last four months I have finally understood these parenting styles firsthand.

The first type I see is the “domineering mother.”  The mother that spends hours reading on the Internet, buys every book that was ever made for parenting, and runs around like a chicken with their head cut off. Continue reading

Motherhood Kicked My Butt

So there comes a point in life sometimes where you have to be brutally honest with yourself.  And today I have reached that point…  Motherhood is kicking my butt.  Big time.  As hard as it is to admit there was a point in pregnancy that I thought this is easy, I can do it, motherhood can’t be that hard.

Power Heels or Ugg Boots?

So my friend brought up a thought when we were talking about parenting, are you a power heel kind of mom or an Ugg boot kind of mom, or a mixture of both?  You see the Rachel Zoe’s of the world that rock their power heels and do everything while there pregnant.  Then you see the Kate Hudson’s of the world that lay low in their Ugg boots enjoying the pregnancy and motherhood.  So which one are you?  Which one do you want to me? Continue reading

The Diaper Bag Is In Nevada…

So I get home from work on Friday and start packing for our frequent trip to California to see my family…this time the trip marks a special day, my mommy’s birthday!  I start packing for the baby, while daddy packs his stuff and the baby luggage, then I start on my stuff.  I slowly pile the bags into the living room for daddy to pack the car.  As we are getting ready to go I go over the check list in my head… Continue reading

Parenting Teamwork

So the last night I get home and realize out of the past four nights the baby has been asleep when I get home and I start feeling bad that I am not doing enough when it comes to raising him, that I am not there enough, that I am in a sense slacking …

I get in my mopey mood where I feel like a bad mom and that I don’t do enough for him. So it triggers the conversation once again with my boyfriend that I am a good mom even though I haven’t been there to put him to bed and that I am not around for a good portion of the day. He said something that got me thinking … Continue reading

Motherhood is Not for the Weak

Four months in and I’ve learned everyday is a new challenge… on Saturday we celebrated four months of parenthood.  No matter what you prepare for or what others tell you the journey of parenthood can not be explained.  Here’s a few of the things I have learned so far … Continue reading
